Why is Saved Feed important in organic farming?

Organic farming does not let you reach for just any bag of feed when pasture runs short. That is why saved feed matters. Baled hay, silage or stored lucerne kept from a good season carries your herd through a dry spell without breaking your organic status. Plan your cuts early and store enough to cover at least one bad season, not just a bad month.

We keep certified organic feed and seed in stock through the year, so when your reserves run low you have somewhere close by to turn.

Saved feed carries you through

A dry season catches every farmer out sooner or later. Cows still need to eat, and organic rules mean you cannot simply buy in whatever is cheapest that week. Ask about storing lucerne and hay Setting feed aside while pasture is strong gives you a buffer for the months it is not. Come and talk to us about what to store and how much your herd will need to get through.

You made all the required mock ups for commissioned layout, got all the approvals, built a tested code base or had them built, you decided on a content management system, got a license for it or adapted open source software for your client’s needs. Then the question arises: where’s the content? Not there yet? That’s not so bad, there’s dummy copy to the rescue. But worse, what if the fish doesn’t fit in the can, the foot’s to big for the boot? Or to small? To short sentences, to many headings, images too large for the proposed design, or too small, or they fit in but it looks iffy for reasons the folks in the meeting can’t quite tell right now, but they’re unhappy, somehow. A client that’s unhappy for a reason is a problem, a client that’s unhappy though he or her can’t quite put a finger on it is worse.
