data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><em>Every pair we make starts as a flat sheet of acetate on the bench in Loop Street, and ends up on somebody&#8217;s face.<\/em><\/p><p>The sheet reaches the workshop about six millimetres thick, with the colour running right through it instead of sprayed on top. We mark out the fronts by hand, cut them on a small router, then the slow work starts: filing the rims, shaping the bridge, softening every edge so the frame sits kindly on the nose.<\/p><p>Nothing here is hurried. One acetate front passes through roughly forty steps before it is ready for lenses, and most of them happen sitting down with a file in hand.<\/p><p>After shaping, the fronts go into a tumbling barrel with shaped pegs and polishing paste for two or three days. That slow rumble gives acetate its depth, and no buffing wheel has matched it yet.<\/p><h5>Hinges and hand finishing<\/h5><p>Hinges are heated and pressed in so they sit flush with the rim. We fit the temples, check alignment on a flat plate, and stamp the left arm with our mark.
