The Newlands Trail Rucksack is our roomy top-loader, made from oiled chestnut leather that our team cuts and stitches by hand. A drawstring closes the main space, and the flap buckles down over it to keep out weather. Two front pockets and a back slip pocket sort the small things, from a map to car keys.
It suits a day on the trail, a market run or a college week. Padded leather straps carry the weight kindly and wear to your shoulders.
Vegetable-tanned accents and brass rivets take the strain at the seams. Over time the leather turns a richer brown and tells the story of where it has been.
