Most of our students do part of their studying on a phone, and that works well if you plan for it. Data can be expensive, so download your notes and videos while you are on Wi-Fi at home or on campus.
Use short study sessions of fifteen to twenty minutes. Turn off notifications so a message does not pull you away from the lesson.
Keep a small notebook beside you. Writing things down by hand helps you remember them. Sipho Dlamini suggests reviewing your notes again the next morning.
Save your data
Download course material over Wi-Fi and study offline later. Use the lite version of apps where you can, and switch off video auto-play. Many of our students study on the bus or during a lunch break without spending much data.
Stay on track
Set a regular time each day and tell your family or friends it is study time. Small steady effort beats a long session once a week. If you get stuck, send your lecturer a WhatsApp message on 082 555 0119.
