SOME WORDS ABOUT US

Clothes Made To Last Longer

We love what we do

We started Karoobelle because we got tired of clothes that fall apart after a few washes. We cut and sew everything ourselves, test each fabric, and only sell what we would wear again next winter.

Our working process

Every piece starts as a pattern cut by hand in our Cape Town studio. We sew in small batches, check every seam, and wash a sample before any style goes on sale.

CLOTHES THAT LAST

About our online store

Plain clothes, made properly, in fabrics that feel better in year three than in week one.

Karoobelle began in a single room off Harrington Street with one cutting table, two machines and a shelf of cotton bought a few metres at a time. We still cut and sew everything in Cape Town, in runs small enough that somebody checks each garment by hand before it is packed.

Cotton, linen and lambswool, cut for the way people dress here, made in small numbers and meant to last

Our company history and facts

Some days the fabric just feels right under the needle, and you already know that shirt will still be good after a hundred washes and a few summers.

How We Cut And Sew

A good jersey should feel like it was already yours, soft from the first wear and warmer every winter you put it on, year after year.
