A soft grey bear knitted by hand in wool, finished with a cosy scarf. Each one is made by a local maker.
Kraalwerk works with makers who prefer slow, careful methods. Their studios are small, often in a garage or a backyard room, and the work is done by hand from start to finish. Materials are local wherever possible, from river clay to sisal and ilala palm. Because of this, colour and size can differ a little from the photo you see online.
Handmade means honest: you get the maker's touch, not a factory finish.
We pay our makers a fair price on delivery and never ask them to cut corners. Orders are checked and wrapped at our shop in Pietermaritzburg before they leave. Most parcels arrive within three to five working days. If anything is not right, write to us and we will fix it. We would rather hear from you than have you unhappy with something made by hand.
