PROJECT WITH A FULL DESCRIPTION
A family in Durbanville asked us to help them furnish a new open-plan living and dining space with pieces that would last.
We started with a visit to our Stellenbosch shop, where they sat on chairs, felt fabrics and looked at wood finishes in daylight. From there we drew up a short list of furniture and decor that suited their budget in Rand and the size of the room.
The main pieces were an extendable oak dining table, six woven chairs and a low sideboard. Lighting came next, with two clay pendants above the table.
Smaller pieces such as linen cushions, a wool rug, framed botanical prints and stoneware bowls tied the space together. Everything was packed by hand and sent with one courier to save on costs.
What we learnt together
Buy the large pieces first, then add decor slowly. Natural materials age well and can be oiled or washed at home. Measure doorways before ordering big furniture, and keep a few colours across rooms so the house feels connected. We gladly share these tips with every customer.
