Meal planning for a busy week
A busy week goes smoother when you know what you are cooking before Monday arrives. Take ten minutes on a Sunday to look at your week and pick five simple meals.
Build your list around what keeps well, like pasta, tinned beans and frozen vegetables, so you are not stuck if one evening runs late.
Shop once
Shop once and stick to your list. It cuts down on last minute dashes to the shop and stops you buying things you do not need.
Order your fresh groceries for delivery and let the household basics and pantry stock last the full week, so you only need to think about dinner, not the whole shop.
Easy dinners
Keep a few quick staples on hand for the nights you are too tired to cook properly. Fusilli or egg pappardelle with a jar of tomato passata and a tin of tuna makes a meal in fifteen minutes, no real planning needed.
Your plan does not have to be perfect. Swap meals around during the week, use what is about to go off first, and keep one easy backup meal ready for the days that do not go as planned.
