Where our fresh produce comes from

Freshkorf fresh produce sourcing scene with South African farm harvest crates

Most of our fruit and veg comes from small farms around the Western Cape, picked within a day or two of delivery. We work with growers we have known for years, so we know how they grow.

When local stock runs low, we bring in from trusted suppliers elsewhere in South Africa. Freshness comes first, every time.

Our growers

Each supplier on our list has been delivering to us for at least two seasons running.

We visit each farm on our list at least once a season, to see for ourselves how things are grown.

Not every grower makes our list. We look at how the soil is treated, how pickers are paid, and whether a farm can keep up with steady orders through the season, not just the easy months. A few have dropped off over the years when standards slipped, and we have added new ones when a grower asked to be checked out properly. It keeps the list honest.

How we choose suppliers

We visit our suppliers' farms and packing sheds to see how things are grown and handled before they reach our shelves. That matters to us as much as price does.

Fresh is not just a word we use. It is a short trip from the farm to your fridge, with as few hands in between as possible.
