SETTING UP A HOME WORKSHOP
A good home workshop does not need every tool at once. It needs the right few, a safe layout and a plan for adding more over time.
When customers ask us for help, we start with the work they plan to do. Someone hanging shelves and fixing doors needs very different tools from someone building furniture or restoring a car. We also ask about the space available, the power points nearby and whether children use the area.
Most people start with a cordless drill, an impact driver and a small angle grinder on one battery platform. That covers most household jobs.
Next come a jigsaw or circular saw, a sander and a sturdy workbench with a vice.
Safety and storage
Every workshop needs safety glasses, hearing protection, dust masks and a fire extinguisher. Wall panels and a lockable tool cabinet keep blades and chemicals away from children. We can supply the full kit, deliver it by courier anywhere in South Africa or have it ready for collection at our Bloemfontein store on Nelson Mandela Drive, with advice on setting it up.
