Everything below is work we do ourselves, in our own vans. Emergencies get answered first, but the planned jobs get the same plumber and the same written price.
These are the calls that cannot wait until morning. Ring the emergency line rather than filling in a form, and we will talk you through shutting the water off while we are on the way.
Burst and split pipes
Copper that has corroded through, plastic that has been crushed, or a joint that has let go behind a wall. We isolate the supply, open up the smallest possible area, replace the damaged section and pressure test before closing anything.
Emergency water shut off and isolation
Copper, PEX and polycop repairs
Ceiling and wall cavity leaks
Outside and underground supply lines
Urgent leaks and water damage control
A slow leak into a ceiling causes more expensive damage than a dramatic burst because nobody notices it for weeks. If you can see a stain spreading or hear running water with every tap closed, treat it as urgent.
Ceiling stains and sagging boards
Overflowing gullies and downpipes after storms
Leaking stop taps and water meters
Temporary isolation so you can still use the house
Blocked drains and sewer lines
Clearing the blockage is the easy part. Finding out why it happened is what stops you paying for the same callout every few months.
Blocked drains
Kitchen lines choked with fat, bathroom lines packed with hair, and outside gullies full of leaves and sand. We rod or jet the line clear, then flush it properly so the debris actually leaves the system.
Sinks, basins, baths and showers
Toilets and soil stacks
Outside gullies and inspection eyes
High pressure jetting for heavy build up
Sewer lines and recurring blockages
When the same drain blocks over and over, there is usually a collapsed section, a root intrusion or a bad fall on the pipe. A camera survey shows exactly where the problem is so the repair is targeted.
Main sewer line clearing
CCTV drain camera inspection
Root cutting and pipe relining referrals
Excavation and pipe replacement where needed
Geysers and hot water
Most geyser insurance claims are refused because the installation did not meet SANS 10254. Everything we install goes in to that standard and comes with the certificate to prove it.
Geyser repair
No hot water is usually an element or a thermostat. Water dripping from the overflow outside is usually a failed safety valve. Both are same day repairs in most cases.
Elements and thermostats
Temperature and pressure safety valves
Vacuum breakers and expansion relief valves
Drip trays and overflow pipe corrections
Geyser installation and replacement
A geyser that has burst has usually taken a ceiling with it. We drain and remove the old unit, correct anything in the installation that does not comply, fit the new geyser and issue the certificate for your insurer.
Electric geyser supply and installation
Solar and heat pump system servicing
Relocation from ceiling to outside wall
Insurance replacement work and paperwork
Leak detection, pressure and pipe replacement
If your water bill has jumped and nothing looks wet, the leak is underground or under a slab. Detection first, digging second.
Leak detection
Acoustic listening equipment and pressure testing to pinpoint a hidden leak, so we open one section of floor or paving instead of guessing at three.
Under slab and under paving leaks
Municipal bill investigations
Pool and irrigation line leaks
Water pressure problems
Pressure that is too low makes showers useless. Pressure that is too high quietly destroys your fittings and voids geyser warranties. Both are fixable.
Pressure control valve testing and replacement
Booster pump supply and installation
Blocked aerators, filters and strainers
Pipe replacement and re-piping
Older Cape Town homes still run galvanised steel that has rusted closed from the inside. Replacing it fixes the pressure, the colour of the water and the leaks in one go.
Galvanised to copper or PEX conversions
Full house re-pipes, staged to keep water on
Water meter to house supply lines
Bathrooms, kitchens and fittings
The unglamorous jobs that make a house liveable. Booked in advance, done in one visit, cleaned up afterwards.
Toilet and cistern repairs
A running cistern can waste thousands of litres a month before anyone notices it on the bill. Usually it is a worn inlet or flush valve, not a new toilet.
Running and leaking cisterns
Flush and inlet valve replacement
Cracked pans, seals and re-seating
Taps and mixer replacement
Dripping taps, seized mixers and shower heads that have furred up with lime. We supply fittings or install ones you have bought yourself.
Basin, bath, kitchen and shower mixers
Washers, cartridges and seats
Outside taps and hose connections
Bathroom plumbing
New bathrooms and renovations, from first fix pipework through to fitting the sanitaryware once the tiler is finished.
First fix pipework for renovations
Baths, showers, basins and vanities
Washing machine and dishwasher points
Commercial, body corporate and compliance
Restaurants, guesthouses, offices and sectional title buildings, where a plumbing failure closes the doors and costs money by the hour.
Commercial plumbing and maintenance
Scheduled maintenance and priority emergency cover for businesses that cannot trade with the water off. We work around your opening hours where we can.
Restaurant grease trap and kitchen drainage
Guesthouse and hotel hot water systems
Body corporate common property plumbing
Planned maintenance agreements
Plumbing Certificates of Compliance
Cape Town requires a plumbing Certificate of Compliance before a property transfer goes through. We inspect, list what needs correcting, quote it, and issue the COC once the work passes.
Property transfer COC inspections
Geyser installation certificates
Water demand management device checks
Correction work quoted before it starts
You hear the price before we pick up a tool
Plumbing prices depend on what is behind the wall, so nobody can quote a burst pipe honestly over the phone. What we can do is tell you the callout fee before we leave, and then quote the repair on site once we can see it.
Nothing gets done beyond making the situation safe until you have agreed the price. If a job turns out to be bigger than it looked, work stops and we talk before it carries on.
