Simple design choices that make apps easier to use

The apps people enjoy using rarely rely on clever tricks. They use plain labels, buttons large enough for a thumb and screens that ask for one thing at a time. These choices sound small, but together they decide whether someone finishes a task or gives up halfway.

We also design for real conditions in South Africa: patchy signal, older phones and data costs. That means light screens, clear loading states and forms that do not lose your details when the connection drops. Good design should still work on a busy taxi ride home.
