New Releases: Fonts and Templates from Local Designers
This month our local designers released a fresh batch of fonts and templates. Boland Pixel added two display typefaces, and Kaapstad Type Co shared a clean serif made for book covers. Each file comes with a simple licence and a short preview sheet. Download, test it on your own project, and see how it feels before you commit to a full brand. New releases land every few weeks, so check back often.

Our Karoo Vintage Serif Typeface was drawn by hand and refined over many months. It suits menus, book covers and wine labels. The letters have a warm feel that works well in print and on screen, and it pairs nicely with a plain sans for body text.
The family includes regular, italic and bold, plus a set of numerals for pricing lists. Every purchase comes with a desktop and web licence, so you can use it on your own site and in client work without extra fees.
Fynbos Handwritten Signature Font started as a pen sketch in a Helderberg studio. It suits wedding stationery, wine labels and personal brands that want a human touch. The strokes are loose but easy to read, even at small sizes.
Type your name, adjust the size and export. The font includes alternate letters, so a repeated word never looks identical. Download it today and add a personal signature to your next project, from invoices to social posts.
Good design starts with a clear purpose. Before you open any software, write down who the work is for and what it must do. A brand that knows its audience will always look more confident, even with a simple layout and two colours.
Choose fewer fonts, use more space, and let one strong idea carry the whole page.
Try this on your next project. Remove one element from your layout and see whether the message still works. Most of the time it does, and it reads better too.
Mockups help clients picture your work in the real world. A simple scene with good light is often enough to win approval. Place your logo on a box, a bag or a vinyl sleeve and share the preview straight away. It shortens the feedback round and builds trust.
Our Single Colour Scene Mockup Pack and Album Cover and Vinyl Mockup are easy to edit in Photoshop. Replace the smart object, adjust the colour and export. You can present three options in under an hour and let the client choose their favourite.
Design tips
Good social graphics do not need a big budget. Start with one font, two colours and a simple layout you can reuse every week. Keep the same look across posts so people know it is you. Save your brand colours somewhere handy and stick to them.
Free tools and a small bundle of ready-made files go a long way. Try a single bold headline per post, plenty of space around it, and a photo that shows real work. Check how it looks on a phone before you post. Small habits like these make a Stellenbosch business look put together without spending much.
Plan a week of posts in one sitting. It saves time and keeps your feed steady.
Before you buy anything, list what you post most: product shots, quotes, price lists or event notices. Then pick a ready-made layout pack that covers those four jobs and nothing more. A smaller set that you actually use beats a huge bundle that sits in a folder.
Open each file and swap in your own logo, colours and font before you pay for extras. If it takes you more than ten minutes to make a post, the layout is too fussy. Choose simple ones and your posts will go out faster and look cleaner.
