Description

Serious Gaming With the ROG Strix

The ASUS ROG Strix G17 is a big-screen gaming laptop for players who want desktop-style power they can carry. A fast AMD Ryzen processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX graphics handle modern titles at high settings, and the high refresh rate display keeps fast shooters smooth and sharp. ASUS gives it a strong cooling system with multiple fans and vents, so frame rates stay steady through long sessions. RGB lighting runs along the keyboard and base. It also doubles as a capable machine for streaming, editing and 3D work.

Bold Gamer Style

The black chassis has sharp ROG lines and a glowing light bar along the front edge. It looks aggressive on a desk at a LAN, yet stays tidy enough to carry into varsity lectures or the office.

Cooling Built for Long Sessions

ROG Intelligent Cooling moves heat away from the processor and graphics card quickly. You can switch between silent, performance and turbo modes with a single tap or shortcut.

Your ROG Strix G17 comes new and sealed from Joltbox, with a full South African warranty from ASUS. Gaming laptops draw a lot of power, so always use the large charger supplied in the box when you play. On battery the machine lowers its speed to save energy, which is normal. If you game during load-shedding, a good UPS or inverter keeps you online, but check that it can handle the charger's wattage. Keep the vents clear and use it on a hard surface, never a duvet. Dust build-up inside is the biggest enemy of any gaming laptop over time.

The screen size is measured diagonally. The panel runs at a high refresh rate, so motion looks smooth in fast games. Turn on the high refresh setting in Windows and keep your graphics drivers up to date in the ASUS app.

Plenty of USB ports, HDMI and a LAN port let you hook up a second monitor, a headset and stable wired internet.
