It supports Full HD and 4K recording, so footage stays clear enough to read a number plate or spot a face. SanDisk rates this card for a very long recording life, far beyond a standard microSD card. It is also built to cope with heat, cold, water and shocks, which matters a lot inside a parked car in summer.
Record Around the Clock, Every Day
Your camera keeps recording and overwriting old clips without you touching it. When something happens, the footage you need is there and ready for you to save.
For the best results, format the card in your dashcam or camera before first use, and again every few months. This clears any errors and keeps recording reliable. Make sure the card size is supported by your device, since some older dashcams cannot read larger cards. If there is an accident or break in, save or download the important clip as soon as you can, because loop recording will eventually record over it. Many cameras also offer a lock button or event mode that protects footage automatically when the device senses a sudden bump or movement.
The endurance rating is based on continuous recording at a set video quality. Higher resolution footage uses more space and writes more often, so the real lifespan depends on your settings, the card size and how many hours a day you record.
Power cuts and load-shedding can stop cameras halfway through a recording, so connect them to a UPS or backup battery where possible.
