HOW WE FURNISHED IT
The brief was simple: sturdy furniture that looks good on a video call and copes with coastal humidity.
Morningside Works took over the first floor of an old house on Florida Road. The rooms were bright but awkward, with high ceilings and wooden floors that creak. The owners wanted it to feel like a lounge, not an office, and they had a firm budget. We measured every room ourselves before drawing a plan.
Sixty people use the space on a busy day. We built long oak desks in pairs, 180 cm by 80 cm, with powder-coated steel legs that level out on uneven boards.
For the break area we used Muizenberg Accent Chairs in washable cotton and two Signal Hill Coffee Tables. Every timber surface got two coats of sealer, because Durban air is damp for most of the year and raw oak moves.
Delivery and setup
Our crew drove the order up from Cape Town in two trucks. Setup took three days over a long weekend, so members lost no working time. Six months on, the owners tell us nothing has warped or wobbled.

Every frame carries a 5-year guarantee. If a desk leg or chair joint fails through normal use, we will repair or replace it at no cost to you.
We ask for a 50% deposit to book workshop time and the balance before delivery. Businesses can pay by EFT and will get a proper tax invoice.
