Every pair of Takkies starts with natural fibres. We weave hemp into a sturdy upper, add recycled yarn where it helps, and glue it all with water-based adhesive. The result is a light, breathable shoe that handles long beach walks and busy days in town. It softens with wear, so the first week feels a little firm and the second feels like your own.
Hemp is tough, but it likes a gentle wash and a shady spot to dry, so keep it away from the tumble dryer.
Sizing runs true for most feet. If you are between sizes, go up half a size for thicker socks. Our cork footbed moulds to your foot over time. Wipe off salt and sand after a beach day, stuff the toes with paper and let them dry in the shade. With that little care, a pair will last you years.
