What is our privacy policy?

This policy explains how Slimkop Learning Centre collects, uses, stores and protects personal information about learners, parents and guardians. We only ask for what we need to teach your child well and to stay in touch. We follow the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), and you may ask to see, correct or delete your details at any time.

Details you give us when you enrol

When you enrol a learner, you give us your name, your child’s name, grade and school, and a contact number. You may also add an email address or details of any learning needs. Even if you do not enrol, you might send us a message or fill in a form, and then we keep the details you share so we can reply and tell you about classes.
We also keep the work your child does with us. This includes progress notes, assessment results, homework we mark, and feedback from tutors. We use it to plan lessons and to show you how your child is doing.

Information we collect when you use our centre

We note which days your child attends, which subjects they take, and how they get to us. This helps us plan class sizes, keep learners safe at pick-up time and send reminders about upcoming sessions.
The information we collect includes learner names, grades, attendance, assessment results and tutor notes. On our website we may also record your browser type, device type and the pages you visit. We never sell your details. We share them only with people who need them to teach your child, and we keep them safe on secure systems for as long as your child is enrolled.

If you use our services to phone or message us, we may keep call and message log details like your phone number, our number, WhatsApp number, sender and recipient email address, time and date of calls and messages, how long calls lasted, and the number of calls and messages we exchange with the centre.

When this policy applies

This Privacy Policy applies to all services offered by Slimkop Learning Centre, including tutoring, homework club, workshops, and our website and WhatsApp line. It does not apply to services that have their own separate privacy policies that do not include this Privacy Policy.

Changes to this policy

We change this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will not reduce your rights under this Privacy Policy without your clear consent. We always show the date of the latest changes and you can ask the centre for earlier versions. If changes are big, we will give more prominent notice, including an email to parents and guardians.
