Our privacy policy explains how Studiepoort collects, uses, shares and protects the personal information you give us when you use the student portal. When you register on Studiepoort, you give us personal information such as your name, student number and a password. You can also choose to add a phone number or WhatsApp number to your profile. Even if you are not logged in, you might give us information, like an email address, when you contact us or ask for updates about our courses.
We also collect the content you create, upload or receive when using the portal. This includes assignments you submit, messages to your lecturers, files you upload, quiz answers and comments you post in course discussions on the student portal.

Information we collect as you use the portal

We collect information about the apps, browsers and devices you use to reach the portal, which helps us show pages properly on your phone and keep the site running when your data or battery runs low.
The information we collect includes unique identifiers, browser type and settings, device type and settings, operating system, mobile network name and application version. We also collect how your apps, browsers and devices interact with the portal, including IP address, error reports, and the date, time and page of each request. We use this only to keep the portal safe and working.

We only use this to run your account and keep it safe.

Who this policy covers

This Privacy Policy applies to all services offered by Studiepoort in Hatfield, Pretoria, including the student portal, assignment uploads and course material pages. It does not apply to services run by other organisations, such as university websites or bursary providers, that have their own separate privacy policies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will not reduce your rights without your clear consent. Each update shows the date it was published, and you can ask us for earlier versions. If a change is important, we will tell you more clearly, including by email to your registered student address where the portal allows it.
