Johan Botha
Short Course Coordinator
Hi! I’m Sipho Dlamini. I’m a lecturer in Computer Science with a serious love for teaching. I’ve spent the last few years helping hundreds of students in Pretoria become web developers and programmers. I am also a passionate entrepreneur who runs a small software studio from Hatfield.
Teaching and Industry Experience
Before joining Highveld University, Sipho lectured at two Gauteng colleges and worked as a software developer for a Pretoria financial services company. He is active in the local developer community and mentors school leavers who want to start a career in technology. Most recently, he led our first-year programming stream as Lead Lecturer and Curriculum Coordinator. After finishing his class, 92% of his students passed the module on their first attempt.
He has since focused on bringing his teaching experience to our online platform. In 2024 he launched the Introduction to Web Development with React course, which has become one of our most popular short courses. He was also voted Highveld University Lecturer of the Year 2026.Education
I’ve spent years working out how to teach technical skills in a classroom, and I’m glad to share what I have learned with our students.
I can say with confidence that my courses give students practical skills they can use in a real job.
