Measuring up before your furniture is delivered

There is nothing more disappointing than a beautiful new piece of furniture that will not fit through the front door. Before you buy larger items, measure the doorways, passages, staircases and any tight corners on the route to the room. Lifts and older homes with narrow entrances can be especially tricky, so measure carefully. A few minutes with a tape measure saves a lot of stress.
