Saving power with smart plugs during load shedding
A small room does not need a big system. Start with one speaker and one smart display, and place them where you actually spend your evenings. Keep cables tidy, keep the shelves clear and let the sound do the work. Most of our customers in Cape Town flats find that two well placed devices are plenty for music, calls and the news.
Try the speaker on a bookshelf first, then move it to the kitchen counter if the bass feels heavy. A few centimetres can make a big difference to how a room sounds.
Come and listen
Hear the speakers in person at our Claremont store and ask us anything about setup.
Entry is free, but seats are limited, so message us on WhatsApp on 082 555 0155 to book.
Placement matters more than most people think. A speaker pushed into a corner sounds boomy, while one left in the middle of an open shelf can sound thin. Try a spot about a hand's width from the wall, at ear height when you are seated, and listen for a minute before you decide. Move it again if the room changes.
Check the room first
Hard floors and bare walls bounce sound around, so a rug or a few cushions can calm things down. In rooms with high ceilings, such as older Claremont houses, aim the speaker slightly upward. Test with a song you know well and walk around the room while it plays. If the bass stays tidy everywhere, you have found the right spot.
We moved our speaker only fifteen centimetres off the wall and the whole lounge sounded better. It was the cheapest upgrade we ever made, and it took two minutes.
