Protecting outdoor equipment from coastal weather
Living in the Windy City has its charms, but strong winds, salt air and sudden rain are tough on outdoor security equipment. Cameras, beams, gate motors and electric fence energisers can corrode or fail sooner near the coast if they are not chosen and installed with these conditions in mind. Good planning saves on repairs later.
We recommend weather-rated cameras and sensors, sealed connections and stainless or coated fixings that resist rust. Mounting points need to be solid enough to stop cameras shaking in strong wind, which blurs footage. A maintenance visit once or twice a year to clean lenses, check seals and test equipment keeps everything working as it should.
