Getting started with smart home automation
A smart home does not need to be complicated or expensive. Most people start with one or two everyday frustrations, such as coming home to a dark house or forgetting to switch off the geyser. Smart plugs, switches and bulbs that you control from your phone are an easy first step and can be added room by room.
Once the basics are in place, you can create simple routines. Outside lights can switch on at sunset, the geyser can heat only at set times and lights can turn on randomly while you are away. Choosing devices that work on the same platform keeps everything in one app and makes future additions easier.
