Inside the Loop Street workshop
Every Larkspec frame starts as a flat sheet of acetate. We cut the fronts, shape the rims, set the hinges by hand and then tumble the frames for several days until the edges go soft and glossy. It is slow work and it is the reason a frame feels different once it is on your face.
You are welcome to come and see it. We are at 19 Loop Street in Cape Town, and someone is usually at the bench during the week.
