Reading your notes again and again feels productive, but it does not help you remember much. Testing yourself works better.
Close the book and write down what you recall. Check what you missed, then try again the next day. Flash cards and past paper questions are good for this.
Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today. Malcolm XOur Free Study Skills Workshop for Grade 8 shows learners how to plan their revision and make summaries they can really use. Ask Nomvula at our front office about the next date.
Space out your revision
Revise a topic today, again in three days and again in a week. Spacing it out helps the facts stay in your memory, so you are not cramming the night before a test.
Explain it to someone else
If you can explain a Natural Sciences topic to a parent or a younger brother, you understand it. If you get stuck, that is the part to go back and revise.

Good, clear advice for parents. I like that it explains things simply and does not make homework time feel like a battle. Well done to the team.
