Sweet seat: a comfy corner for IT folks
If you work in IT, you sit for most of the day. A good chair matters more than people think. Look for proper lower back support, armrests you can adjust, and a seat height that lets your feet rest flat on the floor.
A small jug of fresh flowers on the desk helps too. It gives your eyes something alive to rest on between screens.
Pick the right chair
Adjust the height and the backrest until it feels right for you.
Set your screen at eye level too, so you are not hunching forward or craning your neck all day.
Even the best chair will not save you if you never move. Stand up every hour, stretch your shoulders and look away from the screen for a minute. Small breaks through the day do more for your back than any chair alone.
Small habits, big difference
We hear this a lot from customers who work from home, especially the IT crowd who build their own desk setups. The chair is only part of it. A tidy desk, good light and something green or flowering nearby all help you get through a long day of screens.
I swapped my old chair and added a small vase of flowers next to my monitor. My back thanks me and so does my mood, says one regular customer.
