Late night orders and how they work

Late-night takeaway delivery: bagged order and drinks on a table in front of a vivid red wall with a chair, evening mood

Hapdash keeps the kitchen open well past most other places nearby, because the later it gets, the hungrier people seem to get.

A late order gets the same attention as a lunchtime one. Same cooks, same grill, same care in the packing.

How It Works

When you order after hours, it goes straight to the nearest driver, so the food does not sit waiting before it leaves the kitchen.

Most of the menu stays available right through to closing, so a late order is not limited to a shortened list.

Still A Full Menu

Burgers, wraps, pizza and sides all stay on the board. The only thing that changes after dark is that we send a few extra riders out, since most other kitchens nearby have already closed.

Thandiwe Nkosi – Night Shift Chef

Thandiwe runs the grill from six in the evening until the last order closes. She has been with Hapdash since we opened and knows how long each burger needs on a quiet Tuesday versus a busy Friday.

Sipho Dlamini – Delivery Rider

Sipho covers the late shift on his bike most nights of the week. He knows every shortcut between here and the student flats, which is often the difference between food arriving hot or just warm.

Megan Pillay – Dispatch Coordinator

Megan matches every order to the nearest free rider the moment it comes through. On a busy night that call makes the difference between a twenty minute wait and a forty minute one.

Johan van Wyk – Duty Manager

Johan locks up last most nights and checks the kitchen is set up properly for the next morning before he leaves. If anything goes wrong with a late order, he is the one you will hear from.

A Few Tips

Order a little earlier than you think you need to, since the kitchen gets busier as the night goes on. Keep your phone nearby in case the rider needs directions, and double check your address before you send it through.
