A checklist for first-time buyers
Buying your first home in Cape Town is exciting, and it helps to be prepared before you fall in love with a property. Start with your budget. A bond originator or your bank can give you a pre-approval, which shows what you can borrow and makes your offer more convincing to sellers when you find the right place.
Remember the costs beyond the deposit, including transfer duty where it applies, bond registration and transfer fees, and moving expenses. When you view, check for damp, roof condition and how the home faces the sun. Read the offer to purchase carefully, and ask us or the conveyancer about any clause you do not understand.
