Most students try to learn by reading their notes again and again. It feels useful, but little of it stays. Our Student Support Manager, Nadia Pillay, sees this every exam season at Boekrak Learning.
Try this instead: close the book and write down everything you remember. Then check what you missed and go back to only those parts.
If you can explain it to a friend without looking, you really know it. Nadia PillayStudy in short blocks of thirty minutes with a five minute break. Sleep well before a test. A tired brain forgets, no matter how many hours you put in.
Space out your revision
Look at a topic today, again in three days and once more next week. Short, spread out sessions work better than one long night before the test. Put the dates in your phone calendar so you do not forget.
Test yourself often
Use past papers, course quizzes or cards you make yourself. Every wrong answer shows you what to study next. Mark your work honestly, then fix the gaps the same day while the topic is still fresh in your mind.

Good article for teachers. The advice on moving lessons online is clear and easy to follow. I will try it with my Grade 9 learners.

Helpful read for students and lecturers alike. The points on mobile learning in our schools matched what I see every day. Well done.
