Technology can help a child learn, but it works best next to a good teacher. Learners at our Durban North centre use short online practice sets to warm up before a tutoring session.
The tutor then looks at the mistakes together with the learner and explains them in plain words.
When a child understands why an answer is wrong, the next one is usually right. Pieter van der Merwe, Maths TutorAsk your child’s tutor which online tools suit their grade, and keep data costs in mind when you choose.
Learning on a phone with limited data
Download worksheets and past papers while on Wi-Fi at the centre, then work offline at home. Our front office can help you find the right files for your child’s grade.
When to put the device away
Reading, times tables and essay writing are best done with a book and a pencil. Use the screen to check answers afterwards, not to find them. This builds real understanding before exams.

Good, clear advice for parents. I like that it explains things simply and does not make homework time feel like a battle. Well done to the team.
