Signs Your Child Might Need Extra Help With Maths

Good schooling looks after the whole learner, not only the marks. At Slimkop Learning Centre we pay attention to confidence, reading habits and how a child copes with stress, as well as maths and science results.
A learner who feels calm and supported tends to ask for help sooner.
We want every child to leave our door feeling a little braver than when they came in. Kagiso Molefe, Homework Club CoordinatorTalk to us about how your child is coping. Sometimes a change in routine is all that is needed.
Building confidence step by step
We begin with work a learner can already do, then add one new skill at a time. Praise for effort, not only for correct answers, keeps children willing to try again on difficult topics.
Rest, routine and support
Enough sleep, a regular homework time and a quiet corner at home help more than extra hours of work. Our Homework Club gives learners that calm space every afternoon.

Thank you for this. We have started the weekly routine at home and my son in Grade 7 is already less stressed about homework.

Very useful post. The tips on checking past papers with your child are practical, and we will try them before the June exams. Thank you, Slimkop.

Good, clear advice for parents. I like that it explains things simply and does not make homework time feel like a battle. Well done to the team.
