How to Prepare for the June Exams in Primary and High School

The June exams are a good practice run for the November finals. Start revising three weeks before the first paper, not the weekend before.
Make a simple timetable with one subject for each evening slot. Do past papers under timed conditions and mark them with the memo. Short, regular sessions work better than one long night.
Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today. Malcolm XOur tutors at Slimkop Learning Centre in Durban North run revision sessions for Grades 4 to 12 during exam season. Bring your timetable and we will help you make it work.
Revise in short blocks
Forty minutes of focused work, then a ten minute break, keeps a primary or high school learner fresh. Start with the subject that feels hardest, while your head is clear.
Sleep and a good breakfast
Learners who sleep well and eat before a paper think more clearly. Pack a water bottle, spare pens and a calculator the night before, so the morning stays calm.

Thank you for this. We have started the weekly routine at home and my son in Grade 7 is already less stressed about homework.

Good, clear advice for parents. I like that it explains things simply and does not make homework time feel like a battle. Well done to the team.
