Tips for Finishing an Online Course on Time

Finishing an online course comes down to a routine you can keep. Pick the same time each day, even if it is only 20 minutes. Put it in your phone calendar like a meeting and tell the people at home that this hour is yours. Break the course into weekly goals. When you tick off a lesson, you see the progress and want to keep going. If you miss a day, do not give up. Just carry on with the next lesson tomorrow.

Find a study partner if you can. A friend or colleague who is doing the same course will check on you, share notes and celebrate when you both finish. Many of our students say this made the biggest difference.

Plan around load shedding and data

Check the schedule for your area and plan your study slots around it. Download the lessons while the power and Wi-Fi are on, then work offline later. Keep a power bank charged and a notebook nearby for the hours when the lights are out. A simple plan keeps you on track.

Keep a record of what you learn

After each lesson, write three lines about what you learnt and one thing you will try. Review these notes every Sunday. This habit helps you remember more and gives you something to refer to when you start using the skill in a real job.
