Buying Guides

Choosing your first cordless drill

A cordless drill driver is usually the first power tool people buy, and it handles most jobs around the house, from hanging shelves to assembling furniture. When comparing models, look at voltage, battery capacity, clutch settings and how the tool feels in your hand. A drill that is too heavy or awkward will stay in the cupboard.

For drilling into brick and concrete, choose a model with a hammer function, as a standard drill driver will struggle. Consider which battery platform you are buying into, because batteries and chargers can often be shared across tools from the same range. Our staff in Bloemfontein are happy to let you handle a few models before deciding.
