Single origin or blend
People often ask if single origin coffee is better than a blend. They're just different things. A single origin bean comes from one farm or region, so you taste that specific place in the cup.
A blend mixes two or more origins to build a flavour you won't get from any one farm alone. Our House Blend works this way, built to taste balanced and steady, cup after cup.

If you want to taste where your coffee comes from, start with a single origin. Try our Kenya for something bright and fruity, or our Colombia for a rounder, sweeter cup. Single origin beans shift a little with each harvest, which is part of the fun of drinking them.
Blends are built for every day. If you brew the same way each morning and just want a reliable cup without thinking about it, a blend takes that decision off your hands.

If you want to taste a specific place, single origin is where to look. Each one carries the character of the farm it came from, and that character shifts a little with every new harvest.

How you brew changes what you should buy. A machine favours a steady blend, while a pour over or plunger lets a single origin show its brighter, more particular side.

Single origins come and go with the harvest, so what we stock changes through the year. Once a particular lot sells out, it won't come back the same way again.

If you brew on a machine at home, a blend is usually the safer bet. It's built to pull a steady shot cup after cup, which is exactly why our espresso machine at the roastery runs on the House Blend.
Why Blend
Blends exist to be reliable. By mixing beans from more than one origin, we smooth out the differences between harvests and keep the House Blend tasting the same from one bag to the next, which matters if you drink it every day.
Why Origin
A single origin lets you taste one farm, one season, one set of growing conditions, with nothing added to round it off. If you want to understand what coffee actually tastes like before it gets mixed with anything else, this is where to start.
Grind Matters
The same beans can taste different depending on how fine you grind them and what you brew them in. A single origin shows this more than a blend does, so it's worth trying one bag through a plunger, a pour over and a machine.
Our Pick
If you're not sure where to begin, try a sampler of two single origins next to our House Blend. Brew them the same way, side by side, and you'll notice the differences straight away.
Most people end up drinking both. A blend for the morning rush when you just want a good, steady cup, and a single origin on a slower day when you've got time to pay attention to what's in your mug.

Blending is a craft on its own. We taste each new batch of beans before it goes into the House Blend, then adjust the mix until the cup is balanced from the first sip to the last.
Our Rwanda beans bring a clean, berry sweetness that stands out on its own. We roast it lighter than our House Blend so that sweetness stays clear. It’s one of the single origins we recommend to anyone starting out.
A good blend hides the weak points of one bean behind the strengths of another. That’s the real skill behind it, not mixing things at random. We test every new batch before it goes out to make sure it holds up.
Guatemala beans give you a heavier body with a bit of chocolate in the finish. We like serving it as an espresso or through a machine, where that body comes through best. It pairs well if you take milk in your coffee.
If you’re not sure where to start, ask us. Tell us how you brew at home and what you usually enjoy, and we’ll point you to a single origin or a blend that suits you.
Our Colombia beans are smooth and balanced, with a soft sweetness. It works well brewed as a pour over or pulled through a machine, and sits as a good middle point between the brighter single origins and our steadier House Blend.
