Starting university can feel overwhelming, and nobody should have to cope alone. Our Hatfield campus has a Student Support team that helps with study skills, stress and everyday problems.
You can book a one-on-one session, join a workshop or simply pop in for a chat.
Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world. Nelson MandelaFatima Ismail, our Student Support Manager, and her team are in the main building on Burnett Street from Monday to Friday. Everything you tell them stays private.
Academic and study support
Lecturers like Nomvula Khumalo run weekly sessions on essay writing, referencing and time management. First-year students are encouraged to attend early in the term, before the first tests arrive.
Wellbeing and advice
Our team can point you to counselling, funding advice and disability support. Ayesha Patel and the Health Sciences staff also run short workshops on handling exam stress.
