Tips for Passing Your First Online Short Course

Studying online is different from sitting in a lecture hall, but it can work very well. Many Highveld University students take a short course while holding down a job, and they finish with a certificate and new skills. Create a routine. Log in at the same time each day, keep your notes in one place and submit tasks before the deadline. If load shedding cuts your power, download the lessons beforehand so you can carry on.

Stuck on something? Message your course facilitator through the platform. Johan Botha and his team reply within one working day, and they are happy to explain things again.

How to stay on track online

Treat your online course like a real class. Block out time in your diary, tell your family when you are studying and set one small goal for every session. Finishing a single lesson a day adds up quickly over a month.

Make the most of support

You are never alone on our platform. Use the discussion boards, join a live Q and A and ask your facilitator for feedback on your work. Asking for help early is a sign of a serious student, not a weak one.
