Cutting plastic out of your pantry
We sell dried fruit, grains and snacks loose or in paper, never in plastic bags that end up in landfill. Bring your own container or a cotton bag, we weigh it, fill it, and you pay for what is inside.
Start small. Pick one snack you buy often and get it loose next time instead of the packaged version.
Where the plastic actually hides
Check the small jars and sachets first, not just the big packets, because that is usually where the plastic adds up fastest.
Bring your own containers to our refill counter and we will weigh them before and after, so you only pay for what goes in.
Glass jars are the easiest switch because most people already have some at home from sauces or jam. Wash one out, bring it to our refill counter, and fill it with grains, nuts, or dried fruit instead of buying another plastic bag. It costs nothing extra and the jar lasts for years.
Starting small at home
Our refill station at the till lets you top up rice, oats, nuts and cleaning liquids without taking home another container. Bring back your empty jars and bottles and we will refill them on the spot, every time you shop with us.
I have not bought a new glass jar in two years. I just keep bringing the same ones back, says Naledi, who shops with us every week.
