Last year a member walked into our Bellville studio feeling tired, heavy and unsure where to begin. Twelve months later, she had lost 15 kg and could do ten push-ups.
There was no crash diet. She trained three times a week with Riaan Botha, planned her meals with Nadia Abrahams and walked every evening after work. Some weeks were hard, and she missed a few sessions.
I stopped chasing quick results. I just kept turning up, and slowly my body changed. Member story, FiksFabriekHer biggest tip is to pick habits you can keep. She still trains with us today and has signed up for the Tygerberg Hills trail run.
What changed in her first three months
She began with two gentle sessions a week and a simple food diary. Within twelve weeks, she had more energy, slept better and had dropped her first 4 kg. Nadia helped her swap sugary snacks for easy high protein options from her local Checkers.
What kept her going all year
A regular training slot, a coach who checked in and a small group of members who cheered her on made the difference. She also tracked her progress by how her clothes fitted and how her lifts improved, not only by the scale.
